How to fill the form

The form is filled online only, at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Do not pay any other website or agent.

  1. Click New Registration and create your account with your name, date of birth, mobile number and email.
  2. Log in and fill in your personal and academic details, paper choice and preferred exam cities.
  3. Upload your photograph, signature and certificates in the sizes NTA specifies.
  4. Pay the fee online, then download and keep the Confirmation Page.
  5. If you make a mistake, wait for NTA's correction window, when some fields can be changed.

Keep these ready today:

  • Aadhaar card: name, date of birth and photo should match your Class 10 marksheet; if not, get it updated now
  • Class 10 marksheet (and Class 12, if already passed)
  • A recent passport-size photo (plain background) and a scanned signature
  • OBC-NCL / EWS / SC / ST certificate (if applicable): check its date and validity
  • UDID card / disability certificate for PwD candidates (if applicable)
  • Your own mobile number and email: keep them active all year

Eligibility: passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, or appearing in 2027. For admission to IITs and NITs you need 75% in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST), or a place in the top 20 percentile of your board.

Your 100-day plan

100 days is enough if you split them into phases: first fill the gaps, then revise, and finally practise like the real exam.

PhaseDatesWhat to doGoal
1. Fill the gaps8 October – 15 DecemberFinish the remaining syllabus; list your weak chapters in each subject and take up one a day; study all three subjects dailyNo chapter left that you “can't do at all”
2. Revise16 December – 31 DecemberFull revision of Class 11 + 12; 2 full mock tests a week; start an Error NotebookAt least one revision of every chapter
3. Practise like the exam1 – 20 JanuaryOne full mock daily, at the same time as your exam shift; 2 hours to analyse it; no new topics3 hours of sharp decisions without fatigue
4. Last 2 daysBefore the examOnly your formula sheet and Error Notebook; check your admit card and the route to the centre; sleep 7–8 hoursA calm mind

Subject-wise advice:

  • Physics: Don't memorise formulas; understand where they come from. Keep Mechanics and Electricity strongest; start every problem with a diagram.
  • Chemistry: Read every line and table of NCERT twice for Inorganic. It gives the most marks in the least time.
  • Maths: Solve 25–30 questions a day against a timer. Build speed in Calculus and Algebra; learn to skip long questions in the first round.
“JEE is not about finding the right answer. It's about building the right thinking.” — Dinesh Yadav, IIT-Delhi

Mistakes that cost ranks

Every year good students lose marks not from lack of study, but from these mistakes:

  • A new book in the last month: no new source after December. Strengthen what you have already studied.
  • Looking only at the mock score: the real gain is in the analysis: why each question went wrong (concept, haste or time).
  • Guesswork: wrong answers carry negative marks. If you are not even 50–50 sure, leave it.
  • Getting stuck on one question: if you see no way in 1 minute, move on and come back at the end.
  • Cutting sleep to study: a tired mind gets even easy questions wrong. Sleep 7 hours a night in January.
  • Carelessness in the form: wrong category, a blurry photo or the last-day rush. Fill the form in the first week it opens.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose both sessions in one form?

Yes. In the Session 1 form you can choose January only, or both sessions; the fee is charged accordingly.

What if my January paper doesn't go well?

You get another chance in April. Your rank is based on the better score of the two sessions.

What if I make a mistake in the form?

NTA opens a correction window for a few days after the form closes. Only certain fields can be changed, so fill it carefully the first time.

Can my rank improve in 100 days?

Yes. The biggest gains come from revision, analysing mocks and cutting mistakes, not from studying new syllabus.
